DECOR

The circus is all about being bold & having fun. Play with primary colors such as red + blue and lots of stripes for an authentic circus feel. We love the idea of using tents, animals, trains, flags and clowns as accents to tie it all together. How fun! This adorable sweet & savory table below – that has everything from lollipops to caramel corn- is a creatively done using a tent as a landmark.

ACTIVITIES

A party wouldn’t be complete without great activities for everyone to participate in! Stick with the classics which are sure to please. If budget allows, hire a clown and a juggler. And for an extra splurge how about a petting zoo or a train ride.  You can even use stuffed animals that you have lying around the house as your very own ‘make-shift’ zoo. Make your own ring-toss, bean bag throw, and other fun carnival style games for children and adults to enjoy through out the party. Remember to accent with a smile and let the games begin!

A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA-SPECIAL:  Commemorate the experience with a Circus themed photo booth! All you need is a DIY backdrop, a chair and a fun prop like a circus-trainer top hat. The kids will LOVE it and it will give everyone a lil’ memory to take home. Print one for your guests and one for yourself to keep in an album for later. Cute + Clever AND affordable. You can’t top that!

FOOD + SNACKS

No need to reinvent the wheel here. Keep things kid-friendly and fun with traditional circus snacks and desserts like popcorn bags, hot dogs, roasted corn, soft pretzels, and candy apples. Add a cupcake Ferris Wheel for flair and who could forget a Circus cake, like below, for this special occasion.

The best part is, the Circus is all about good ol’ fashioned fun + laughter. The more whimsical, the more bizzare, the better!!

No stuffiness & formality allowed for this one. Just fun.

Enjoy! xo
