Bright and Lush Spring & Summer Weddings!

Bright and Lush Spring & Summer Weddings!

The most popular wedding season is almost upon us and we couldn’t be more excited for all the brides and grooms-to-be! Spring and Summer weddings tend to be big wedding hits as they are are home to gorgeous warm breezes, sunny skies & local flowers, making way for natural & lush outdoor ceremonies and receptions.

Embrace this wonderful time of year with using the best of the outdoors! Nothing speaks to summer more than crisp & clean summer whites with hints of lush greens.  Paper lanterns, peonies, myrtle, twinkling white lights and sparkling champagne to set a romantic scene. Use the palette of the outdoors as your wedding colour base.

Keen on a touch of color? Go with tones that compliment summer best with their natural beauty. Shades of pastels, nudes, rose gold, blush and mint accents can keep things romantic and warm without being too over the top. See below highlights from some of our favorite Spring and Summer weddings!

FOOD

In the spring and summer months, cooling refreshments and food are key to keeping your guests happy & festive. Greet your family and friends with lemon, orange and cucumber infused waters when they arrive to start things off on a light note and keep them cool while your I Do’s are taking place.

Move from water to bubbly!

Nothing spells celebration more than champagne! We love the idea of a fancy champagne tower reminiscent of the 1920′s for your first toast. You can even learn to sabre the champagne bottle (or hire someone to do so) as an extra special touch (and very cool photo opp).

A mix of lace, florals and a gorgeous natural bouquet will be stunning on any spring or summer bride. Lace and plunging, decorative backs are highlighted as major trends for the season (read more in this post)  keep your accessories simple and focus on your natural beauty. Let your bridesmaids do the same in mismatched dresses. Every girl deserves to be glamorous and lovely and we promise – no one can outshine the bride on her big day. Just make sure they match your tone and style. If it is formal, go with long dresses that compliment each individual with different necklines.

DECOR & FLORALS

When it comes to decorating for your summer wedding, think outside the box! For seating, we adore mismatched chairs and an outdoor comfy lounge furniture for guests to relax in. Take advantage of neutral tones. Achieve the look by scoring flea markets and thrift stores to collect or find a local rental company to use them for the evening.

Centerpieces can make a huge statement. Try succulents for a natural look or go for full-on romance with a lush floral arrangement that literally flows off the table. The bounty of spring and summer have endless options of florals to choose from. Helpful tip: Choose florals that compliment the setting you are in. Having a wedding in the country? Think local wildflowers displayed in an organic look (mason jars, mismatched vintage vases) as the setting you are in. A beach wedding? Incorporate centerpieces made of driftwood and flowers.

Your ceremony can also be a great opportunity to use the florals of the season. We are utterly in love with the romantic yet fresh feel of these aisles and archways. The perfect backdrop to capture your commitment.

Looking for a great way to add some light? We just love clusters of white paper lanterns to cast a romantic hue to your ceremony or reception space. Add strings of twinkling lights for more depth and glow.

COLOURS

When it comes to spring and summer weddings, we like to say that less is more. Stick to white-on-white or a blush and rose color palette. Add in greenery of the season and unique twists such as retro mint. Neutrals will let you and the natural beauty of the season shine. Below are some of our favorite weddings using whites, pinks and summer greens. Take notes and happy planning!
